When talking about retail displays, the usual requests we receive are for temporary displays and permanent displays. Temporary displays are usually made of corrugated cardboard and are expected to be used for about 30 to 90 days. They are most appropriate for new product launches or seasonal displays. Permanent displays are usually made from much more substantial materials like metal, plastic, acrylic, styrene, wood and glass. They are expected to last for a year or more on the sales floor and are likely to be restocked as needed. Because of the longer time commitment and the type of products they hold, these displays are generally much more expensive than temporary displays of the same size.
But what if you have a product that you want to display for more than 90 days but less than a year? You don’t want to invest in a permanent display if you don’t have to, but you also don’t want to have to keep replacing temporary displays that start looking bad or come apart. Semi-permanent displays might be the great option you want for displaying your products for 3 to 6 months. While they can stand up to some use on the sales floor, semi-permanent displays should also be easy to disassemble and dispose of when you don’t need them anymore.
Custom semi-permanent displays should be planned carefully. They can save you money, but they still need to look good and keep your product or products organized while in use. They can be the perfect balance of cost-effective while still performing as you need. They may be made of the same materials as permanent displays or also co-polyester or double corrugate when appropriate.
